A research concerning ornamental plants conducted in London, England is presented. It is disclosed that indoor plants are capable of absorbing harmful indoor air pollution. The indoor plants can assist in the reduction of the levels of stress and improve work performance. The World Health Organization (WHO) reveals the impact of the indoor pollutants to people causing 1.6 million deaths annually.

Medina goes green

During the Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) conference held at Windsor Castle, Sheikh Ali Gomaa has stated that Islam teaches its followers to preserve the Earth. The Grand Mufti of Egypt has decided to launch a seven-year program in Medina, Saudi Arabia to promote the Islam religion to be more eco-friendly. According to Sheikh Ali Gomaa, the plan covers the climate change education in Islamic schools, the use of renewable energy in mosques, and the promotion of environmental regulations in places of pilgrimage. In addition, Gomaa stresses that it is a religious obligation for all citizens to encourage the preservation of the environment.
